This piece was a collaborative non-objective sculptural installation. The project consisted of three artists, each of whom took one of three spacial elements--line, plane or volume. I explored the concept of "plane," and my section of the overall installation shown below is the sculpture with blue denim rectangular planes. After welding the steel frame, I sewed together several pairs of old jeans to create the denim planes used to cover the welded steel frame. The first three photos show the sculpture fully installed, and the photos below those display the steel frames without the fabric installed.
